Erin Murray Quinlan's musical 'Hemingway’s Wife' tells the tale of the great American novelist behind closed doors and in the company of each of his four wives. To the outside world, and especially his readers, Hemingway represented the all American hero, rushing into war zones and trekking to far-flung corners of the world to inspire masterpieces like 'For Whom the Bell Tolls' and 'A Farewell to Arms'.  But at home, he craved the domesticity that his wife could provide - whomever she may be at the time -  and always with one eye open for the next.

In this witty new musical, the man himself directs the action and invites us on a journey the world. From First World War Paris to his famous Key West villa he conjures up scenes in which we see how he wooed and wasted so many relationships. But all is not exactly as he describes as we see glimmers of the man behind the bravado and the cracks begin to show.  With stunning music and lyrics we hear from Hemingway and his women as the songs highlight what he saw in each wife and how they met, married and moved on.

Behind every great man is a great woman… sometimes four of them.
